This is a detailed replica of a cup found in the tomb of King Gorm of Jelling, who ruled over Denmark in the 10th century. This cup has been made exactly according to the historical model found in the tomb. Same as the historical cup, this small cup measures 5.5 cm x 4.5cm with an approximate capacity of 35ml which makes it the perfect stylish way to enjoy your spirits or mead.
The otiginal cup is made of sterling silver, however this replica is made of bronze that has been plated in real silver.
The design that surrounds the cup showes two intertwined mythical creatures, possibly wolves, that gave the name to the Jelling style.
The original cup is now on display at The Danish National Museum in Copenhagen as part of a permanent exhibition.
